Once upon a time, there was a girl. This girl loved beauty. Natural beauty & beauty she created. Beauty others created, too. The reflection of what was once just imagined & now in true form. Truly impressed by the beauty surrounding her, she decided to take part & explore her own creativity. She worked on her craft to 'perfect' it. & in the process, met people who inspired her. People who believed in her. Then those people became just as important in her growth as her love for her gift. I am that girl. & I tell my story as a story to remind myself of how fortunate I am to be this girl with such an amazing life. There are definite ups & downs in this industry, like in all others, like in life itself...but doing what I love gives me satisfaction & happiness.
I'm a licensed cosmetologist, 7 years strong. I've done an apprenticeship & paid my dues as an assistant. I've been let down by bosses, coworkers & clients but I've also had the best coworkers, bosses & the most amazing clients/friends. I love everything about what I do, some days the opposite is also true lol. But when people ask me if I prefer hair cuts over color or hair over makeup or waxing or nails I sincerely can't pick one. It just depends on the moment. I find joy in my work & it's nice to be able to be flexible with a variety of services I can provide. I just wish I was more fashionable haha! I love fashion! But I can never look like a Pinterest pin, why?! My style is ever changing. Do I have one? Lol
I want to start this blog to share my passion, my advice, my tips & tricks, etc. I also want to hear from YOU! I want to be able to interact with others who enjoy their work, or those starting beauty school, or the makeup enthusiasts or the ones who can no longer fight the rise of beauty guru high that has captured all social platforms.
